Talking Anyone else remember Schoolhouse Rock?

I used to love those in-between-cartoon cartoons they used to run on Saturday mornings... to teach kids grammar and history and the constitution and stuff... Schoolhouse Rock!

this was one of my favorites:

Schoolhouse Rock- How a Bill Becomes a Law

I'm just a bill, yes i'm only a bill, and i'm sitting here on Capitol Hill...

oh and this one too:

School House Rock - No More Kings (America Rock)

Hi,

That is a great song.

I didn't have tv as a kid, so I don't have tv memories to share with others NPR did an interview with one of the singers. That was the first time I had heard the School House Rock songs!

Thanks for "White Bird."

Here is U2 doing "Beautiful Day":
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8w7f0ShtIM --written in yr 2000 (not old) -- I was reminded of it because of the It's a Beautiful Day link.

Here is "Mercy Mercy Me."

Default I heard "Amie" in my head today -- don't know why.

I've also never been sure if this is a happy song or a sad song.

I like listening to it.

Default Amie

i never thought of this song as happy or sad.

the strongest thing it elicits in me is nostalgia, which is almost a sadness over happy things. but i also find in it a sense of longing , hope and ... desperation - yes, opposites.

complicated blend of emotions for an otherwise pretty simple song. btw i have always liked this song.
