Default Optic Neuritis Question

I had a case of Optic Neuritis in my left eye at the beginning of the year. I did not treat with steroids and it cleared up on it's own in about 4 weeks (thank you LDN).

At first I thought I had a sinus headache because it hurt behind my eyes and when I would lean over. I also had blurry vision in my left eye. It turned out to be ON.

Now, I have those same symptoms in my right eye but no visual disturbance. I'm wondering if you can have back to back bouts of ON in separate eyes?

It's still very mild pain....just when I move my eye up or down. No vision loss or blurriness. I won't do steroids for this, either, if it turns out to be ON. Just wondering if episodes could happen so close together.

I've had several bouts of ON in both eyes. It doesn't seem to be choosy at all!

My doctor used to give me steroids at first but now I just let the flare take it's course. It only takes around 4 weeks to completely clear up, and I prefer not to take the cortisone if I can.

With each occurrence of ON I've had severe eye pain on movement, but not always blurred vision. Check your color vision Kelly and see if you have any disturbances there. Red colours often appear washed out during a flare.

Do get it checked, even if you don't want the steroids. It could be something else that does need treatment.
