Default Lyrica and MG

Hi all,

It's been a while since I wrote. My dad had a myasthenic crisis and was hospitalized for 6 months. He's home now and doing much better.

However, his doctor has increased his Lyrica which he takes for residual pain from the Shingles. He seems to have gotten weaker and we're wondering if the Lyrica could be having a negative effect on his MG meds. He is currently taking Prednisone, Immuran and Mestinon.

Does anyone know of a negative relationship or reaction between Lyrica and MG or the MG drugs?

Thanks!

Dana, Yes, Lyrica has increased weakness listed as a side effect.

Taking methylcobalamin sublingual tablets (B12) can help heal the peripheral nerve damage/pain he is having. You might want to try high doses of that for a while. Source Naturals and Jarrow Formulas make a good 5 mg. one. I get mine at www.iherb.com

I hope he gets better soon.
