My experience with Mr Devine over nearly 2 years is that he doesn't really look at the patient as a whole. He also was not one to perform tests to see what was happening in the area that TOS affect's nor did he suggest PT or anything else for that matter. Given I have blood clotting associated with my TOS and on blood thinner's there is a lot of things other with TOS patients can do to relieve their area's of paint and discomfort, I have medical restrictions from a lot of these things just in case I have a clot and dislodge it again.
My new specialist is Mr Adrian Ling
Although he doesn't list TOS as a condition he treats he is very aware of what TOS is and has treated patients with TOS before. I like the fact that he discusses everything with you as a patient rather than fobbing you off like my last Dr did. He also performs amy test's to give him a clearer understanding of what is affected before discussing surgery further.
The physical exam was also more thorough and he was really concentrating on a particular area which is where I experience most of my pain and problems. I got the impression he knew by listening to blood flow but also feeling the structures there that he has a pretty good idea what was going on. My previous Dr refused to do surgery at all where as this Dr has listened to me and about TOS getting worse since diagnosis and wants to investigate further and has discussed that surgery is an option and that when the test's come back we can discuss the options although he is pretty sure surgery is the only option especially given TOS makes me clot and my quality of life is declining and I am not even 45 yet.
I know there aren't many Aussie's in here but this may be useful if there is.
