Lightbulb Private Messages vs Visitor Messages

It seems some members may be confused about these.

When you leave a Visitor Message (VM) on someone's profile page, it is *NOT* private. Anyone who is logged in can read it if they go to that person's profile.

Only a Private Message (PM) is not seen by anyone other than the person sending and the person receiving.

So if you want to have a private conversation with another member, choose the Private Messaging option please!

And if you are sending a Private Message from a members profile page - it is very easy to click the Visitor Message link by mistake.

... and if you are checking the little teeny weeny boxes one after the other to soft delete visitor messages, you have to be very careful not to click the "Report" boxes by mistake.

are you sure you are hitting "submit" and not "preview" and then not submitting?

The PM system seems to be working fine so it sounds like you may be using the preview instead of submit

Often what helps when some are having issues with the site or sites, is to clear you browser cache.

some threads about it-

I sent you a test PM keep smilin...

There is a box to check below the text box that says
"check to save sent messages"... that needs to be checked to show your message in your sent box.

Until you get it figured out, after typing a PM or message save a copy of it -and if it does disappear you can just paste it back and try it again.

Do you use the little "remember me" check box when you log in?
Often that helps if it is a timing out issue.
