Shocked Dental Extraction and sinuses

Just curious if when having a tooth extracted is it possible for your sinuses to fall out?

Hi cjw66,

No, your sinuses cannot "fall out". They can be punctured either by the root of the tooth or an extraction instrument. They can inflame and become temporary balloon like. But there are many, many compartments to sinuses and no they cannot fall out.

Why do you ask?

The reason I ask is because my boss came to work the other day saying that she had a tooth pulled and that her sinuses fell out is why nobody could contact her. I didn't think it was probably true.

Hmmmmmmm.... wonder what she could have meant by that. Perhaps she had a sinus exposure during the extraction and her dentist told her to go home and rest???
