Allodynia and Fibro: It Hurts to Wear Clothes

I just stopped in and noticed a previous post with folks talking about sensitive skin. Just today on Facebook there was a link about allodynia that I thought may be good information for some here. I always wondered what was up with the weird skin feelings (which I am currently having on the back of my legs, weird!).

Also, just the lightest touch to my body is painful.

Allodynia is pain that comes from a stimulus that normally wouldn’t elicit a pain reaction. There are tactile forms of allodynia: pain from a touch or light pressure applied to the skin (static mechanical allodynia) and pain from brushing against the skin (dynamic mechanical allodynia). There is also thermal allodynia, or pain resulting from hot or cold stimuli that others would experience as mild.
