Default MP3 Player and Music Service

Does anyone have any suggestions on an MP3 Player and Music Service to download music for the player? I have been checking around and tried Musicmatch and it did not work well for what I want it for. I want to add music to MP3 player (in MP3 format) to listen to at work and not spend an arm and a leg. Any ideas or websites??? HELP please.

I'll ask my daughter when she wakes up- she is the MP3 pro around here.
It might be later this afternoon/evening.

I haven't done any of that music stuff much.

If you have music CDs you can load those on to your computer and I think they can be converted to MP3 if they aren't already.

What brand of MP3 player do you have?
Did it come with any software?

We had to send a Sony ZEN V plus back for repairs already- after only 3 months it was acting very weird.

So we bought a SanDisk® Sansa™ c250 MP3 Player, Black
so when the sony zen comes back - she'll sell one of them to a friend.

Lightbulb we have 2 Sansas...

at 150 and a new e280... The 280 is just cosmic.

The Sansa ones don't have to be mp3 format...they can be wma too.

I don't use music services... we just put our CDs on the player.

But Rhapsody is one Sansa uses.

I upgraded to the new Windows media player...it is also very nice. The sync interface is much better with the new one.

There is a website:
http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...ysprune=-1&f=9
There are many ideas there. But beware--some of the people are bit "goofy".

Jo--- There are new firmware downloads for your Sansa 250 to fix any bugs you may have. (esp any hiss/noise etc which plagued the earlier models.)
In fact my son downloaded an update to my new one when he helped me set up the pictures function. But I really like it... alot...it is easy to work with
and sounds fantastic --and the pics are great too. (easy for old fogeys like us)... we bought the Sony high end ear buds...they are cosmic too!

We bought the 150 because it takes a regular AAA battery which is replaceable--easy for our summer home which does not have electricity for
recharging.

Default Uploading Music from MP3 to PC?????

I've been trying to upload some of my music to my Laptop from my CD,but it won't let me,it say's I have to have an MP3 player in order to upload music on to my Laptop! I figured it would be the opposite,if I wanted to download songs to an MP3,then that sounds more likely, but I'm trying to get the music on my Laptop from a CD! Does anyone have any ideas ,or know another way to get around the MP3,cause I hear they're pretty expensive, and plus,I wouldn't know how to get my songs from my CD to the MP3,in order to get it on the Laptop! You can tell I'm not a computer whiz! Just other area's! But I was excited when I came out of the recording studio ready to get my music online, you know?!

You might need to check thru your settings on the computer.
Is it Windows XP?
are you using the windows media player?

When you put the CD in does a screen pop up that asks you what to do with the info on the CD?

Exclamation It Was A Laptop Problem................................

I got a new laptop, because of a virus that had taken out my internet on my old one,and now I can,and did get my music onto my laptop.I wish I could,or knew how to put one of my songs in the creative corner, for you guys to hear.Is that possible, can you actually put a song in creative corner to share,to where they can actually hear you singing the song! Or can you only write lyrics for reading like I've seen in there. I've seen links, but I wouldn't know a link to my own music library on my laptop!

I've never done anything like that , but maybe you need to find a program that will convert your music files to MP3 format?

Your player on Windows?? should be able to do a conversion - look for the settings /preferences/tools/options for something like that.

Hi sunsplashinwaves, iTunes is a free download from Apple and there is a Windows version. It's very easy to use and will convert file formats with just a click.

iPods can be had for cheap on Apple's refurbished iPods link and they are guaranteed. I got a refurb 4gb Nano that holds 1,000 songs for $140. It's perfect for me, I just keep a few different music files/albums and rotate them by the 1,000 songs every once in awhile. My car stereo is hard-wired to play and charge it and I love it, I just pop it out and it's good to go on the move.

Here's a neat trick, I often take my laptop to the library and load CDs right there. They automatically dump into iTunes and I'm good to go.

To convert protected AAC files to unprotected, just burn them onto a CD and reload it, taa-daa, no longer protected.
