Phew Barb......I'm tired after reading about your day!

I went to the doctor and had blood work done last week and they called me yesterday to give me the results. My good cholesterol is too low and my bad cholesterol is too high. Not enough to warrant medication but enough that I can get it under control through diet.

Sooooo......I went grocery shopping this morning and everything I bought is low fat or no fat. Lots of fresh fruit and veggies. But the good thing is all the yummy fruits and veggies I love are in season right now. So I have started eating better....healthier.....and drinking lots of water. Things I should have been doing all along but just got lazy.

I just heard about tornadoes in the Dallas/Ft Worth, Texas area. I hope everyone there is okay. We're supposed to have some stormy weather Thursday and Friday here. I really do not like this time of year.

I just saw the videos of the trucks and the tornadoes in Dallas. YIKES I need to start eating better too. I end up eating out way too often.

I hope Curious and family are okay out there in DFW...pretty scary weather!! I just read that of the 48 contiguous states, only one state has had fewer tornadoes than Vermont...let's keep it that way. Ugh!!

We went grocery shopping this morning--not because I really felt up to it, but it's supposed to be snowy/rainy the next couple of days and then it will be the holiday week-end shoppers. We found some things on sale that weren't on my list (Tide, for example) so we ended up spending more than planned.

We've been craving burritos, or whatever you'd call our version. We don't like the real spicy stuff, so bought a jar of mild sauce, some shredded cheese, etc. to go with the hamburger. We bought lean ground beef, which frankly isn't quite as tasty...but I made up for it with a little scoop of sour cream. And we have leftovers for tomorrow, yay!

The waterfowl have returned to the river, or at least our portion of it! We've seen Canada geese, hooded mergansers, common mergansers, mallards, and wood ducks so far. I look forward to the return of the Great Blue Herons. Also we just heard that a bald eagle was spotted a couple of miles down the road (nesting??), so we'll be watching for that also.

Curious is a FB friend and she is fine. She was posting yesterday on FB after the tornadoes went through and they were very close to her. One of her daughters had a lot of damage to her car from huge hail, though.

Jackie, I'm keeping your uncle and your family in my prayers. It's hard to watch a loved one suffer.

Hi all...long time no see...

Hope everyone is well...weather's been such an issue the past few months...hope all are safe in the Texas and south, who seem to get hammered so hard...

Had an appointment with a new endocrinologist this morning. Said my thyroid is small, indicating that being on a too-high dose of Synthroid has atrophied the gland.

He gave me a new script for an in-between dose...I'd been told to alternate high and lose doses the past month or so, which is a pain. Hope this new dosage does the trick and stabilizes my numbers. He is also referring me to a medication management program. He feels that the medications I'm on and
their interactions may be causing the extreme fatigue.

I lost a couple of pounds while on vacation, and continue to choose healthy foods. Fruit, oatmeal, lean meats, salads, no chocolate (except maybe a small piece of dark), and drink lots of water. I need to lose a huge amount, but the endocrinologist told me to be realistic and work consistently with diet and exercise, especially with all of the health issues.

Well, hope everyone is having a good day...

Think I may be having a flare. I have been more tired than usual since the beginning of March. I usually make it home from school and spend a few hours just lying in bed. For the past few days, I noticed more strange sensations( partially numb feeling) on the back of my leg and my upper back. My rib cage and back have also been hurting more than normal for the past few weeks. Knees and legs are also pretty painful but I assume that is my arthritis. I have also been more clumsy than normal the past few days -- always dropping things. I just hope this passes quickly. I still have three more weeks of classes to get through plus finals. I don't plan on calling my neuro because we have an agreement about steroids. That is, I won't use them unless I have a case of optic neuritis or end up in the hospital due to ms.

I am also planning to drive to Ohio the week after finals for Mother's day (visit a week with family) and then bring my mother back with me for a visit. She will be 84 in June, and is looking forward to the trip. I did get her a ticket to fly home so I will not have to make the trip back to Ohio again. I don't have time for this right now.

Hi Everyone!

I know I haven't been posting much; just a combination of lots going on and really not know what to post. It was also my busy time for work and finally got through all of that typing.

No big plans for today. I'm working on a painting for my sister and want to get it done by tomorrow as she will be here tomorrow. Yikes!!! I better get moving on it.

The weather has been really weird here, fluctuating from hot to cooler over night and even within the same day. Pollen count is extremely high, 11 something out of a scale of 10. I'm using my air filters/purifiers and that has been helping me quite a bit.

I hope you all have a great day and a wonderful Easter (if I don't check in tomorrow)!

Hello! Hard to believe it's Easter already. Today is such a beautiful day here. The pollen has really dropped to a tolerable level and the highs are in the low 70's.

Tricia, I hope things are good for you. Do you have big family plans for this weekend?

Barb, I've noticed that when a big event is coming up.....or just anything out of the ordinary......I tend to notice little things and sx that I never paid much attention to ordinarily. I guess we just want things to be normal and uneventful for us especially when we're doing stuff that's not the norm. Like driving to Ohio and bringing Mom back with you. Stresses your body and mind out no matter how hard to try not to let it. I hope you feel better.

We're celebrating Easter with a family dinner next weekend. It's oldest DS's birthday then so we just decided to celebrate them both then. I can only manage one big dinner!

I'm waiting for the guy to get here to cut my grass. I so wish I could still do that myself. I've got the perfect yard to cut by myself....nice and flat with no hills. I just cannot do all that walking and wouldn't be able to start the lawnmower by myself even if I could. The man that does it for me is a super nice guy who lives in the next subdivision. He got a part-time job at Chick-fil-a to help supplement his income. His daughter works there, too. He said he likes it because he doesn't have to work on Sunday and can still go to church.

Glad you're back safely from your vacation, Debbie. I hope everything was good at home while you were gone. I'm sure your puppy was glad to see you.

Everyone have a wonderful Easter weekend.
