Thank you for your kind words of understanding B2Y. That is what means the most is that there are people who understand even if we can't fix it.

These birds I had followed me into my garage to attack, attacked sleeping old cat too who could care less about them. Nowhere in the whole yard was safe! They drew blood from my head! We had to wear hats, and carry a net to shoo them away. Next years brood we did not let them nest there again. We moved them out, and they did find another location in the yard. ginnie

Hi Everyone!

It's my busy time for work so I only have a quick moment to check in. We're trying to get it all done before tomorrow afternoon.

It's been hot here. I think my hibernation time has hit. Or, at least, only go out in the a.m. and p.m. when it's cooler out.

I hope you all are having a good day!

Lots of little odds and ends today, starting with my husband putting out the hummingbird feeders. Last year they came on May 7th; in 2010 the 15th; in 2009 the 6th, and in 2008 the 7th. So we're ready when they are!

I had ordered four "house dresses", three came and one was backordered. They were shoddy, but I kept one, returned two, and canceled the backordered one--which arrived today. Grrrr. I ended up keeping it. It's ugly, but comfortable. And I'll never do business with that company again. Can't even get responses to my emails. Grrr again.

I ventured outside long enough to dig up a "volunteer" pansy and move it to a bed before the first lawn mowing of the year happens, probably Wednesday. My legs and ankle/foot have been giving me grief, so I didn't stay out long or venture far.

My granddaughter has been giving me email instructions for making nachos--with plenty of LOL's--would you believe I've never made them? Haven't even had any for so long that the main thing I remember is that I LIKED them. My granddaughter wants to make me some guacamole, which I've never had. I like almost everything, so I'm game! Happy to have somebody fix food for me.

Frozen pizza for lunch. I got involved in following the volunteer fire department on the scanner after I heard them called to the home of an elderly neighbor (about three miles up the road). Guess it started in the garage, but thank God his daughter was there, got the car out, etc. Extensive water damage to the kitchen, I guess, but the house was saved. His granddaughter is my daughter's best friend.

I had just settled in to have a snooze when the fire trucks went by, so no nap for me today. That's okay, I'll just go to bed a little earlier than usual. Nothing big on the agenda tomorrow anyway. The only things left on the agenda are a little snack and (following the news) a couple of innings of baseball.

I slept most of yesterday, very little of last night... so I think a nap is in order this morning.

Not much new going on. I have some errands to run and a nap to take. Nap before driving!

Hi Everyone!

B2Y - Sorry about the house dresses. I guess you won't be ordering from them again. Did you ever check out that pattern I posted to make your own?

Not doing much today. I just started my colonoscopy prep so I'll just be hanging around the house for the rest of the day/evening. My colonoscopy and EGD are being done tomorrow morning - early. Pray that all goes well and they find the source of my stomach pain and that I have a nice clean colon by tomorrow morning. I don't want to be doing this prep again.

I finished up all my typing for the month end reports. Phew! It feels good to get that over with. I try to keep my turn-around-time around 24 hours. But during the busy time, it's hard. I was able to accomplish my goal.

I hope you all have a great day!

tkrik, I did check out the pattern but the odds of my ever making it are slim to none. I don't even remember how to thread my sewing machine.

Hi everyone...finally in the 70s here
T, you are too funny re: clean colon with no place to go

Barb, when people ask what your plans are, just say "I'm going to follow my bliss." Then do just that!
B2Y re Cooper..I sometimes think it was more heartbreaking for me to put my beloved dogs down than to say goodbye to the kids when we dropped them off at college...one of the hardest parts of my life...

Pam

Holly... sorry you're feeling so crummy...get your fam to work to straighten up the house...tell them a happy mommy makes a happy family...
I am right with you on how distracting and crabby-making a messy house can make us feel.
Have been puttering around, planting flowers, mowing the lawn, trying to get the fish pond from turning green. The fishes were frisky in the bottom pond last weekend...banging the females along the side of the pond trying to extract the eggs. Then came the male slime...ugh...the fishes in that pond are very quiet now; probably exhausted

DS36 had breakfast with us over the weekend and told us officially that he and his GF are having "problems". No duh...we could tell that in Hawaii. He is skittish about committing to another woman after 2 divorces. Just breaks my heart, because he has a lot going for him

DS32 & DIL are moving this weekend. Renting a townhouse with an extra bedroom. They hope she will be able to concentrate better on her photography editing now that she won't be in the same room as him while he watches TV. But now he thinks she'll beg him to sit with her in the room while she edits, because she gets lonely At least they'll have a garage for one of their cars.

DS34 & DIL listed their house in DC over the weekend and had an open house...and got 3 offers by Monday! They're already under contract...now they have to find a place in CO to rent until they figure out where they want to settle. I think he begins work in August, so they have some time.

And DD27 is so worried about how education in WI is being changed by new rules, etc. She got her payment voucher for her Stafford loan for her now-completed master's....and it's already at the doubled rate She's worried how she and her hubby will be able to afford the increased interest rates on his loans too...

My stomach is in knots from all of this, plus being on antibiotics that upset my tummy...had part of the nail of my big toe removed last week...ugh...
trying my best to just let go about the kids, since it is their journey...repeat...repeat...

Well, hope all of you have a good evening...

Hi Everyone!

Aw Debbie! That's a lot going on at one time plus your in-laws as well as your own health issues. But you are right, it is their journey. It's so hard to see our kids go through such tough times. Hang in there!

Holly & Debbie - I agree! A messy house drives me crazy especially when I am not feeling well. I like things neat, clean, and uncluttered. I like be a minimalist.

Procedures were a success! My colon was nice and clean. I left with a list of things going on from the esophagus to the colon and had 2 biopsies done (1 in the stomach and the other was for a colon polyp he removed). I have some sort of esophogeal motility disorder (MS related???), hiatus hernia, reflux and diverticulosis in addition to the other 2 things I mentioned. UGH! I still have to get my celiac panel done as well as another blood test before my follow up appt with him at the end of the month. None of this is too serious (well depending on the biopsies) but more of an annoyance and I will have to change my diet somehow to add more fiber but no wheat, oat, rye, and barley (all things I just don't eat anymore cause they cause me too much trouble).

Other than that, the procedure itself was a breeze. I don't remember much of it. I just remember trying to tell them something and then someone trying to wake me up. I took a nice good nap this afternoon and feel more alive.

I hope you all have a good afternoon/evening!

Debbie, I thought the interest rates were supposed to increase on newly issued loans -- not existing loans. Hopefully, congress will stop the partisan politics for ten minutes and get a bill passed that they can agree on.
