Mark, you are a very nasty boy--in my time I've heard of that venerable member of the reed family called many things, including the farting bedpost, but never, ever have I entertained nor heard of anyone else express thoughts of using one that way. Oooooocchhh!

Actually, I think the best weapon/musical instrument is the banjo. The bodies of those are heavy, and the long neck would give you one heck of a swing. But if you wanted an instrument that would provide offense while you're just playing it, nothing beats the bagpipes.

Buzzsaws--sometimes that works for some people, but I also suspect it causes them to write bad things in your record so that your reputation precedes you. I dunno...

But from the little I've read, it looks like the bit in that MRI report about "demyelinating process" might have something to do with MS if it's in your brain. But it also said that there were no visible leisions, so maybe not.
Hi Joan,

Jan here, newbie. I don't have a banjo, but I do have a mandolin, and it's a cheap one if you wanna borrow it. :+) Hope you find a solution to your pain and a doc who will listen. Don't you just wish you could put one of these docs into your body for a day and let them find out what your life is really like on a day to day basis?!

Farting bedpost....hee hee hee. Nothing makes me laugh quite like a little toilet humor.

Jan

Hiya JavaJan--youbetcha I'd like to have the docs feel what it's like! Don't we all? Although maybe if they fully understood the pain their patients feel, they would burn out from it. I have to believe that most of them really do care, but have to insulate themselves or they wouldn't be able to do their jobs. But then again, I've met a few who make me wonder a little...

And Mark,

Eyem watchin' you, mister!

Smile OK Joan...... How about a Kazoo?

Can you imagine?????

Now on the point of understanding. My own pain treatment specialist is a back patient, and has had surgery similar to my own.... how about that for understanding? I think the situation, and my Physician, are pretty cool indeed.

Yup,

Default Strike Three--or is it four?

Latest neurosurgeon said "no dice--it's not the bone chip", and now I'm being sent to an MS specialist. (which I do think is a reasonable idea after the MRI report, but this guy clearly couldn't wait to get rid of me.)

Ya know, ya hear over and over and over again how some doctors misdiagnose people, put them through things needlessly, and sometimes even cost them their lives. I have a friend who was told she had a brain tumor and to get her affairs in order because they gave her about 6 months to live (after they DRILLED a HOLE in her #$^%in SKULL!!!!) And then they said "oops, never mind, you just have MS." Can you imagine? It just makes you wonder sometimes if you're gonna wind up being one of those stories where they're asleep at the switch...

Sorry for the rant, and thanks for listening.

Rant away my friend! I hear what you're saying.

Being 'rushed' out the door that's kinda how my recent appt went with my pain doc when I told him that my back spasms aren't under control and that I'm concerned how I'm supposed to get around Disney World with my family in 2 wks.......

Oh, he was SO happy to talk about HIS wonderful experience with his grandkids at Disney. He used up the 10 minute visit talking about that and quickly wrote me a script for an old muscle relaxer that never did work 2 yrs ago and gave me a courtesy script for a WHEELCHAIR should I need it when I'm in Orlando! wtf?

......off to lunch he scampered

An MS specialist eh? I wonder what type of tests you will undergo.
At one time (pre-SCS) I started suspecting MS. Didn't pursue tho, I think by that time I was simply fed up with trying to find out what is wrong with me. To this day I wish I could find a doctor who'd spend time with me to try and get some definitive answers.
Always being rushed out the door......really makes a person feel important, dunnit?

I sure hope you can get some answers soon, Joan.

Yeah, they wear ya down, that's for sure. The person who convinced me to pursue MS was a PA at a Walgreens I saw for strep throat. She kept saying "why didn't you come in earlier? Didn't the pain bother you?" And I said "pffft, pain like that makes me go 'meh'. She asked me a few more questions, then said, "have you ever been tested for MS? If not you really should! And I said OK I will! So I did!

My MRI shows there is significant demyelation, but not lesions yet. Now if I could guess, I'd predict that this next jasper will want to do a spinal tap. Seems to me that if I had those wires stuck up your spine for the trial SCS, the spinal tap couldn't be any worse, clould it?

It just amazes me though, that I tell docs over and over that I'm losing my abitity to walk, and they don't seem the least bit worried. What do you have to do make theme realize this is serious?

I hope you can get answers too, Rheah. You certainly deserve it.!
