Default insurance company nurse service

Newly diagnosed with seronegative mg throigh emg. Got a premium increase and call from insurance company offering free phone access to 24 hour nurse via a service called accordant care. Anybody know how this works and if it is good? I am concerned that it sounds too good to be true and that it will somehow limit my and doctors' options. Sorry y'all have mg but glad y'all are here. Thanks.

Welcome!! Glad you found the site.

There are many insurance co pushing 'nurse' service. Most simply have a protocol manual they go by - - and are indeed in place to help reduce the patient load on the doc.

Our Ins has added on something called Castlight -supposed to help find lower cost care, but we can still choose what we prefer.
We haven't used it yet.

Default Thanks!

Thanks Suev and Jo-Mar for the information. I'm guessing it won't hurt to give it a try. I live a few hours from any neurologist and there's not one in my town, so I'm thinking having a nurse that a local doctor can reach at anytime could be a big help.

Hope y'all are having great days.
