Court: Menu Foods harassed pet owners
By Elizabeth Weise, USA TODAY
The pet food company that recalled 60 million cans of contaminated dog and cat food repeatedly made harassing phone calls to pet owners who had lawyers and said they didn't want to talk, even after a judge ordered the firm to leave them alone, court records show.

Lawyers from six firms representing clients who claim their pets were harmed by Menu's pet food asked a federal judge in New Jersey Wednesday to stop Menu from "bullying" people who had called the company since the recall was announced March 16, according to their court filing.

U.S. District Judge Noel Hillman in Camden, N.J., agreed with the plaintiffs, describing the calls as "aggressive," according to a transcript of the hearing obtained by USA TODAY.

"Gosh" Nice to know the company's have nothing better to do then harass people, instead of cleaning their act up. All because they got Busted with their hand in the cookie Jar.

It's nice that the Judge agreed with the Plaintiffs.

I heard about this also... that Menufoods is selecting certain people to call and harass, while they ignore others. I have yet to receive a call from Menufoods directly. I called them atleast 3 times once this first occured, never to receive a response. I am trying to figure out now how to join a lawsuit - maybe then they will start to harass me? I have contacted multiple lawyers to receive no response.

hehe. serves them right. i never bothered with menufoods. i just dumped the 3 canned foods i had for my cats as a rare treat, as they were 2 numbers away from the ones that were recalled. i feel so lucky, as that was too close for me. anyway, since then, i've been giving my pets (one dog and 3 cats) tidbits of deli-cut ham for treats. i was using canned food as a rare treat. i don't give tidbits much - just once every 2 months, and not too much. i felt much safer this way, as i still am not too sure about menufoods anymore.
