Final NETRP Program Funding Bill Expected this Week! Help Secure Defense PD Funding in Continuing Resolution
Take Action!

Call Your Members of Congress Today

All year, the Parkinson’s disease community has been working on three funding priorities, which include the Department of Defense’s Neurotoxin Exposure Treatment Research Parkinson’s (NETRP) program, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Later this week, Congress is expected to consider legislation to fund the entire Federal government through the beginning of 2009.

The funding bill, called a Continuing Resolution (CR), will provide interim funding for most agencies, including the FDA and NIH. However, the CR will also include the full Fiscal Year 2009 Department of Defense Appropriations bill, which contains NETRP program funding. While our work on FDA and NIH funding will be postponed until 2009, today we have the opportunity to ensure the NETRP program receives the strongest funding level possible for next year.

Please take five minutes to call your Members of Congress today and ask them to support $25 million for the NETRP program in the final Fiscal Year 2009 Department of Defense bill to be included in the CR. This may be the last opportunity for you to voice your opinion on NETRP program funding!
