Default 3mm Bulge

I was wondering if 3mm is allot?I have a 3mm Bulge in T8-9 and 2mm Bulge in T10-11. I was hurt at work while crawling in a attic and heard something pop and have been out of work for 6 months now and the pain is the same as the first day I hurt it.
