Default My Son needs your prayers.

HI everyone. I am so depressed and my son Mark could really use your prayers.

Mark has been out of the army for four years. He received a registered letter last week. He has been re-instated to active duty.

He must report to Fort Polk Louisianna on Thanksgiving night for 30 days of retraining. He will then be sent to Afghanistan.

I am going out of my mind with worry for him, and he is not happy.

He has PTSS. He has been seeing a psychiatrist for 2 years and just last month he quit having nightmares about his tour over in Afghanistan. My emotions are really high and as a mom I feel so helpless. He has 2 small children whom he hasn't told yet.

He told me the other day, "Mom when I got that registered letter, I just curled up in a ball in the corner and cried.

Please say a prayer for him. He's scared not because of the unknown, but because he knows what it is like there!! Thanks everyone.

Beth

Beth,
You know you and your family have my prayers!

I am so sorry this has happened to Mark.

Oh, Beth, I'm so sorry. Isn't there something he can do since he's been under medical care for the past two years? I just hate this war. I hate everything about it.

You and your DS will be in my prayers every day. I know this must be so terribly hard on you.

Thanks Kitty! He has a physical scheduled with the army on November 16 where he will bring all his medical records. We are praying after seeing the doctor notes they will reclassify him.

It's just so hard! He has been out of the military for 4 years but unfortunately they still own you

((((((((((Beth)))))))))))

I dont have understanding of how this works but is there no way that the psychiatrist can intervene in this?
he has served honorably and he was wounded, albeit in the mind ...but that is still wounded. Surely after all this time they must know that sending someone with PTSS back into active duty is a bad idea...and would rather use him more efficiently stateside or at a non war zone base abroad if they are going to recall him.

I am praying for you and for him plus his wife and children

I think Chemar is right. It doesn't make sense they would send him back if they know he's been under care for PTSS. Tell him to talk to military medical about it. Was he seeing a civilian doctor or the military/veteran's hospital? You can also ask him to contact the local PVA chapter and see if they can help. PTSS is very serious and veteran hospitals are taking it serious.

Either way, my prayers are with you all.

Thank you so much Chemar! As I told Kitty he has a military physical on the 16th of November. He will present copies of the doctor reports. We can only pray now!
