Default numb middle finger and other things..

Hi
Well i have been dealing with so many issues the past almost 3 years.
The only diagnosis i have had are arthritis and fibro.
I recently had rotater cuff surgery on my left arm.
The only thing the surgery helped me with was the pains in my upper arm from the torn rotater cuff.
Before surgery i had burning along the top of my shoulder from the neck all across to the top part of my shoulder.Icant stand or sit up for longer than 10 minutes w/out it starting up.Also here lately i am getting actually numbing right at the bottom of my neck. When i say numb i mean you could poke me w/ a needle and i doubt i would feel it!!All this is on the left side.
I just started feeling this numbing feeling the last 2 weeks or so...
Also this is just after surgery i have had this my middle finger is numb and hurting when i try to bend it!!
I was told over a year ago that i had small herniations at C6-7.Yet they may reabsorb. Also that i had foraminal narrowing mostly on the left side.
I have been in pain all this time.Actually the pain in my neck has gotten progressively worse!!
I am going to ask my doc on monday to order an MRI for me.
I am just wondering if anyone here could give me some insight for now.
Thanx~

I have the same thing with my rt hand. It started out with pain in my middle finger and some swelling and redness. It then went to the next finger and the pinky, which hurts the most.

My doc has tested me for rhuematoid arthritis-neg

Then I had an mri of my neck, and it showed herniations so my doc said it was from that. Does that make any sense to anyone here? or was he just putting me off?

j/k, of course...

I hope they find a source of the problem, along with a cure.

Ponyboy..You made me crack up laughing!!!

I also have herniations -but mine are at C6-7 level- the last time i had an MRI anyway thats what it read!
My ring finger and pinky also "feel funny" but it's my middle finger thats is swollen and numb.
What did your doc say he/she planned on doing for you?

I have tried therapy for the burning in my neck.I have tried using the tens unit.
Nothing will ease this krazy burning.
I am taking topamax 200 mgs a day.It was doing good for me up until the last few months! So that's whats telling me something is going on i nthere thats needs looking into!

Hi Kelly,

I hope the Doctor was able to give you some answers. About 7 years ago, I had the same things that you have described, and they found that I had a ruptured disc in my neck, they did end up operating and I have been doing good since, until recently, and they have told me that I have a bulging disc above where they fixed, so I need to be more careful. I hope this helps you, and yes im glad I had the surgery.

Good luck!
