I would run through all of your medications' information sheets and search them online to see if any have "vivid dreams" listed as side effects. Even though nothing's changed in several months, since the frequency has been increasing, it's possible that this is a result of longterm build-up in your system.
A lot of things can cause vivid dreams, ranging from medications to medical conditions (diabetes) to diet to hormonal imbalance (not necessarily just "female") to vitamin imbalance (excess vitamin B6).
If you do a search on vivid dreams causes, the articles that turn up may give you a clue as to your possible cause(s), which you can then take to your doctor.
