Default PD and hip replacement

Hello. I'm new to the board and glad to have found this great site. My 67 year old mother has PD and has had it for 27 years. She is due to have hip replacement surgery in the fall and I'm quite worried about recovery and what it may do to the PD. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with hip replacement and PD? Thanks.

One of the most gracious people here just had a hip replacement. Post again asking to talk to Jaye.

Glad to see you but not glad you need to be here

My father had a hip replacement in his seventies, with PD. He recovered well and it didn't seem to affect his PD. They used a special operating room, like a sterile hood, to reduce the chance of infection, something they do routinely.
