Default Rozerem? Serious sleep issues

Ri has been having major sleep issues for months. We took her nap away, and had even started not letting her sleep all day with post icital sleep (unless the seizure was super bad) We have gotten suggestions from her neuro, we have used melatonin so long that it is like a sugar pill to her, does nothing. Only quiet activities before bed, no sugary drinks, nothing with any caffiene, no TV when it is bed time, quiet dark room, you get the point.

Today was her 8 year old check up so we talked to her ped about it She gave me some samples of Rozerem to try.

Ri has hit 51 inches tall and 55 lbs- No wonder my back kills me when I have to carry her around.

WE also found the cause of the seizure increase and high fever this morning, she had a really bad ear infection. Did this kid complain once about her ear hurting? NOPE, not once...

Before I give Ri the Rozerem I wanted to know if anyone elses kids have taken it? I am alsy afraid to give her anything that might increase seizures...

Denae

I haven't heard of this drug even. And I can't read the thread because of its width. But I'm going to see if I can find anyone that knows anything about it.

My eyes aren't liking the wide post. And my therapist says I have to watch
this it will make my therapy a mess, and not work.

rozerem is the sleep med that has the commercials on TV all the time, the beaver and abe lincoln.

I was only able to pull up pretty limited info about it online. I did get the package insert. It didn't have any info about children taking it which did make me uncomfortable.

I didn't give it to her last night, she did ok and went to sleep since her fever spiked again she was feeling icky and went to sleep around 9.

We will see how tonight goes, we are definitely going to be watching the the seizure count for any increase...hmm, or a decrease would be ok too.

Yep, thats pretty much all I found too. Just approved in adults.

Her ped checked for drug interactions so I know there isn't an issue there. I almost want to check with her neuro about it, but I am so desperate for her to get some sleep (and me too) that we are going ahead with it tonight.
