Default Just wanted to share the wealth...

I've taken a hiatus from the forum and found it necessary to tell all of my findings as of late. First I think it's great that this forum is here because it's soooooo nice to get confirmation that "I'm really not crazy" theses things are happening! After my long journey of Dr's and my GP's suspicion of surgeons looking to add a rib removal to their tally... I was referred to the University of Connecticut Health Center; occupational Medicine department. Dr. Martin Cherniack. I waited an hour for him but it was the best hour i'd ever spent waiting for a Dr visit. He came in a n read all of my past treatment notes before he even started an exam. (I have a binder full) He knew before he touched me I had TOS because of all my notes. Any hoo.... he referred me to a DPT (Doctor of Physical THerapy) Lisa Satler, Midtown Physical Therapy, in NYC. Again an unbelievable experience. imagine going to two medical appointments in a row and they both know what is going on and confirm that you again "not crazy" I mean after all the tight muscles alone speaks for themselves. I never knew what the feeling of confirmation felt like till I went to these two. They should be added to your list of DR. and PT. THey both have been involve din writing articles and books about TOS/RSI. She also works closely with a Dr. in NYC for patients in that area. I can ask her for the Dr's name and get that back to you as well.
I go twice a week for PT...manual PT that is. I take a 1.45 hour train ride to the city and back. She had patients from all over NY, NJ, PA, CT, Mass, CA I know...that's how good she is.
Her therapist are great. THey notice everything. I had increased tightness and burning at a recent visit and I had to retrace my steps over the last couple of days and it was from: get this....trying on bathing suits! No two pieces here the tummy trimming, instantly look thinner, you have to pull, wiggle and reposition to get your self in only to look like a sausage with arms and legs. Those kind. Seriously who ever got hurt from trying on bathing suits? THat's how crazy this TOS is and how I'm learning to cope. It's taking too many pictures at a party, cleaning up a spill, getting stuck in traffic, pulling weeds...daily things that come up and need to be done by someone and it's not the husband who works doubles to cover the bills so you can finally get the treatment you need and have been denied since 1999. Mood change i was getting a bit negative...I apologize.

Any way please update the Physician and PT list with these two and i can get you more info addresses phone and website info.
PS. the breast reduction was a bonus! I can't really say it made a huge improvement but an improvement. i got the right bra now that was a huge improvement~ I'f i'd only done that years ago...Please ladies it should be a priority on your list of things to do this month. You look thinner and stand taller...with just a new bra???whoda thought?
Well that's all for now. Thanks for listening!
